Richard Dale Hotopp passed away at home with his loved ones by his side on February 2, 2015. He was 79 years old. Richard was born on October 8, 1935 to his parents Herbert and Veronica Hotopp in Plano, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, after which he completed a year of college before going on to become a lithographer in the printing industry. Richard was a 36 year resident of Milwaukie, Oregon, and a 9 ½ year resident of Washougal. He was a member of the Clackamas Park Baptist Church, Gleucoe Baptist Church, Oak Grove Church, and most recently, Gateway Community Church. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school lessons, camping, fishing, hunting, and working outside to maintain his 5 acres of paradise. He loved everything to do with the great outdoors. Richard leaves behind his wife of almost 56 years, Donna Hotopp at home, his son David Hotopp of Midland, Michigan, and his daughter Denise Bulski of Washougal, as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Lynn, sister Marilyn, his parents Herbert and Veronica, and his stepmother Leona. Services for Mr. Hotopp will be held at the Gateway Community Church in Washougal.
